Recently, there has been an abundance of Formosan termite swarms in the area that have been disrupting our daily lives. In a recent interview on WKRG in Mobile, Austin Key, VP of BugMaster, talked about recent swarms. “These Formosan termites are not the ones who eat up your home, but are more for mating purposes. If you are caught in a swarm, turn on one bright light to draw them towards. To keep the swarms outside, Don’t turn your porch lights on unless you’re expecting company. Keep your drapes, your blinds closed and just limit as much light as possible.” If you’re having swarms in your area and want to be outside, try putting a larger light away from the house to draw termite swarms away.
With all this swarming, Memorial Day is just around the corner and we want to make sure your celebration is mosquito free. Mosquitoes and bugs can definitely put a damper on your holiday fun. If you plan on entertaining outside, you can always buy the citronella candles or tiki torches. If you plan on being outside at night, a large light clamped to a fence away from the festivities is also a good way to draw the bugs away from you.
