Decking the Halls of The Child Advocacy Center

Each year, the BugMaster team looks forward to Christmastime because of our tradition of helping the Child Advocacy Center of Mobile (the CAC) decorate for the holidays. A few weeks ago, the team went to the CAC and strung lights, put up a Christmas tree, and spread the holiday cheer! WKRG and Fox10 stations were there to watch the decorations go up.

The Child Advocacy Center of Mobile is dedicated to providing care for physically and sexually abused children and their non-offending family members while also educating the public about child abuse prevention. The holidays can be an especially difficult time for these children, so BugMaster carries on the tradition of decorating the CAC every year in an effort to help them through the holidays and get the kids into a cheerful spirit. BugMaster employee Katy Johnson says, “I love decorating the CAC because I feel like I am really helping spread the Christmas cheer for those who need it most.”

Take a peek into this year’s decorating experience below:

BugMaster and the CAC have been working together to help the children for years. BugMaster’s Vice President, Austin Key, started volunteering for the CAC while he was a student at Murphy High School. When he started working with BugMaster, he decided to continue this tradition, as well as begin decorating the outside of the CAC. Key says, The work that the CAC does is such a worthy and needed cause. With BugMaster being a local company, we try to be involved with the community — and what better way to do it, than to help children? By our helping with the small task of decorating, the CAC team is allowed to focus on more important things.”

Patrick Guyton, the Executive Director of the CAC, says, “Having a beautiful, decorated facility means so much to them. BugMaster has transformed the inside and outside of the CAC into a wonderland of lights that truly welcomes child abuse victims.”

Here at BugMaster, we look forward to our Christmas decorating tradition with the CAC each year, and we are so grateful that we can help make this season an enjoyable one for the kids at the CAC.
